2.6.3.3 Testing Validation Rules

1. In the Validation Editor dialog, click the Validate button. The dialog shown

below appears.

2. Enter a number in the field provided. You can either type the number using

your keyboard or click numbers on the dialog’s number pad.

3. Click the Validate button. Note the feedback in the Results area to the

right.

4. To perform another test, repeat steps 2 and 3; to return to the Validation

Editor, click Close.

2.6.3.4 Scenario: Seven Digit Local Dialing

In this scenario, the following transformations will occur:

• User supplies 7 digits: Dials as supplied.

• User supplies local area code + 7 digits: Area code is stripped, and

the seven digits are dialed.

To implement this, open the Validation Editor and locate the rule (in the top

pane) named “Example - trim area code from local numbers.”
